Viral Video Sparks Outrage: Entrepreneur Criticizes Malay-Muslim Staff

A video made by a Chinese national and business owner has incited widespread condemnation on social media after the entrepreneur shared his contentious views on hiring staff from Malaysia's Malay-Muslim majority. The video, which went viral last week, features the businessman candidly expressing dissatisfaction over what he described as the "life-changing experience" of employing Malay staff.

The entrepreneur's grievances centered on frequent staff absences, which he claimed were "out of your imagination." He highlighted Friday absences, attributing them to religious obligations that require employees to attend mosque for prayers. The video was made public, allowing Malaysians to witness his critical remarks firsthand.

"Lastly, for religious reasons every Friday they need to go mosque for prayers. Which means for the entire Friday afternoon he will be MIA," stated the unnamed entrepreneur.

His comments sparked outrage among Malaysian social media users who accused him of prioritizing profit over his employees' needs. The entrepreneur was seen as dismissive of cultural and religious practices, leading to accusations of insulting Malaysia's Malay-Muslim majority. The video also touched on issues such as poor financial management among the staff, further fueling the controversy.

"due to poor financial management," he remarked in the video.

The backlash was swift, with many Malaysians expressing their disapproval of his views and questioning his respect for cultural diversity. Critics argued that the entrepreneur's perspective reflected a lack of understanding and appreciation for the cultural and religious practices integral to the Malay-Muslim community.
