Donald Trump announced last week on Truth Social that he will appoint Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as "special envoys" to Hollywood. The former president plans to bestow honorific titles upon the trio, including addressing them as "Mr. Ambassador." This move is part of Trump's broader initiative to restore Hollywood to its former glory and counteract the business it has lost to foreign countries over the past four years.
The three actors are tasked with serving as Trump's "eyes and ears" in Hollywood, with the aim of revitalizing the industry. Trump expressed confidence that Voight, Gibson, and Stallone will contribute to making America "great again" and "safe again," and usher in a new "Golden Age of Hollywood." He believes their involvement will help bring Hollywood back "bigger, better, and stronger than ever before."
Jon Voight, an outspoken supporter of Trump, praised the decision. He referred to Trump as his "hero" and expressed gratitude for his leadership.
"I'm proud to call the president of the United States my friend, our friend; my hero, our hero. A man who never gave up on the American people, and we the people, never gave up on him." – Jon Voight
Voight also emphasized the significance of honoring American values.
"We the people will honour our flag again." – Jon Voight
Mel Gibson admitted his surprise at the appointment but accepted the role with commitment.
"I got the tweet at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised. Nevertheless, I heed the call." – Mel Gibson
Gibson's recent experiences, such as losing his Malibu home to wildfires in Los Angeles, have impacted his perspective on American resilience.
Sylvester Stallone, a long-time friend of Trump, was present at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally, where Trump celebrated what he described as the "greatest win of all time." Stallone's presence reinforces his support for Trump's vision for Hollywood and America.
