Young Innovator Steven Wang Pioneers Finance’s Influencer Economy with Dub

Steven Wang, a 23-year-old entrepreneur, is making waves in the finance world as the founder of Dub, a fast-growing copy trading platform. As the guest on this week's episode of the StrictlyVC Download podcast, Wang shared insights about his innovative platform with hosts Connie and Alex. Dub is transforming retail investing by allowing users to automatically mirror the portfolios of elite traders, hedge fund managers, and even politicians such as Nancy Pelosi.

Wang's journey to revolutionizing asset management began with his role as Brand and Content Manager at BUILT BY GIRLS, where he developed a deep interest in tech and an ardent passion for crafting equitable and welcoming professional spaces. This commitment to inclusivity has been a driving force in his career, even as he decided to drop out of Harvard to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations. Despite leaving academia, Wang holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in English from Hofstra University in New York.

In the podcast interview, Wang elaborated on the concept behind Dub, emphasizing its unique position at the crossroads of finance and social media.

"We’re building the first influencer creator economy for finance by connecting really smart talent that’s good at investing and giving regular retail investors an easy way to just put their investments automatically with the really good investors that are out there," – Steven Wang

The idea is to democratize access to top-tier investment strategies, enabling everyday users to benefit from the expertise of seasoned professionals.

Wang's vision does not come without challenges. As the founder of Dub, he is navigating a complex web of financial regulations. His efforts are reshaping the asset management industry, aiming to create a more accessible and equitable environment for retail investors. While his current base remains unspecified, his influence is unmistakable.
