Fiverr Empowers Freelancers with New AI Tools to Enhance Creativity

Fiverr
, the renowned online marketplace for freelance services, has announced the launch of its Personal AI Creation Model, a tool designed to empower freelancers to harness artificial intelligence in their creative processes. Initially available to only thousands of top-vetted freelancers, this innovative model allows users to create and configure AI models trained on their previous work. Priced at $25 per month, the model offers freelancers the flexibility to set prices for using their AI-generated work. The move underscores Fiverr’s commitment to making freelancers “irreplaceable, not obsolete,” according to CEO Micha Kaufman.

The Personal AI Creation Model is designed to be a seamless extension of a freelancer's skill set. Freelancers can opt to disable the model at any time, retaining exclusive access to any content generated during its use. This ensures that their creative work and AI models remain their property. A Fiverr spokesperson emphasized,

“Creative work and the AI models freelancers train belong to them.”

Fiverr reassures users that it will not utilize gig worker data to train in-house models that could potentially compete against them. Instead, the company may collect aggregated, anonymized usage data to enhance platform performance and user experience. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure creators remain central in the evolving creative economy. As stated by CEO Micha Kaufman,

“We built [these new features] to ensure creators remain at the center of the creative economy.”

Complementing the AI Creation Model is Fiverr's existing Personal AI Assistant, available for $29 per month or as part of Fiverr's Seller Plus Premium plan. The Assistant functions as a customer service chatbot, fine-tuned through contractors' previous chats with clients. A Fiverr spokesperson elaborated,

“The Personal Assistant analyzes each freelancer’s profile, gigs, and past client communication[s].”

Freelancers have the opportunity to review and adjust their Personal Assistant’s responses during setup. They can further configure its behavior by defining specific topics that require direct freelancer intervention and tailoring the questions and responses it manages. This customization ensures freelancers maintain control over their client interactions. The spokesperson added,

“Freelancers can review and adjust their Personal Assistant’s responses during the set-up process. After set-up, the freelancer can further configure their Personal Assistant’s behavior by defining specific topics that trigger a hand-off to the freelancer, and can add or remove questions and responses that they’d like the Personal AI Assistant to answer or not answer.”

In addition to these technological advancements, Fiverr has introduced a program offering shares in the company to its top-performing contractors. This initiative is scheduled to go live on Thursday and reflects Fiverr's market valuation, which stands at approximately $1.16 billion as of last Friday. CEO Micha Kaufman described this move as a way to ensure gig workers receive appropriate recognition and compensation, while also providing them with unprecedented tools to scale their work.

“This is about making our freelancers irreplaceable, not obsolete,” stated Kaufman.

Fiverr emphasizes that buyers on the platform will continue to have complete flexibility when choosing between AI-generated work, human-created work, or a combination of both.

“Buyers have full flexibility to choose between a freelancer’s AI-generated work, human-created work, or a seamless blend of both,” noted a Fiverr spokesperson.
