Apink’s Emotional Return to Singapore: A Night of Tears, Joy, and Music

It had been a long nine years since the beloved K-pop girl group Apink last performed in Singapore. On February 20, they made a memorable return to the city-state, delighting fans with a concert at Arena @ Expo Hall 7 as part of their Pink New Year tour. Consisting of members Chorong, Eunji, Bomi, Hayoung, and Namjoo, the group delivered a powerful performance featuring a mix of their popular songs and emotional moments that left both the performers and audience in tears.

The concert featured a variety of Apink's hits, including fan favorites like "Mr. Chu," "D N D," and "To." Among these performances, a particularly poignant moment occurred when the group sang the ballad "0419," named after their debut date on April 19, 2011. The crowd joined in by singing the lyrics in Korean, creating a touching atmosphere that overwhelmed the group members, making it difficult for them to sing their lines. Namjoo was the only member who managed to hold back tears during this performance.

In addition to their own songs, Apink treated fans to some unexpected covers. Bomi led a rendition of "Unholy" by Kim Petras and Sam Smith, while Namjoo stunned the audience with her sexy cover of "Water" by Tyla, leaving fans screaming with excitement.

The emotional connection between Apink and their fans was evident throughout the concert. Before performing "NoNoNo," they engaged in an intimate 20-minute talk with the audience. They expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and apologized for taking nearly a decade to return to Singapore. During this heartfelt interaction, Bomi was overcome with emotion and burst into tears.

"Of course today I did my very best since the beginning [of the concert] but this got me thinking, I should have put more effort in it," Bomi confessed.

Eunji shared her own feelings of gratitude towards the fans:

"Thinking about our fans who waited here, it made me feel so grateful and happy from the start of the concert. Thank you for waiting for us."

As the concert drew to a close, Apink endeavored to leave their fans with smiles. In a playful goodbye, they formed a train and made cute sound effects, adding a joyous note to an emotionally charged evening.
