Tesla Showroom in Austin Targeted by Incendiary Devices Amidst Ongoing Criticism

A Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas, was one of the incendiary-attacked facilities on Monday morning. The Austin Police Department responded to the scene, just before 8 a.m. local time. What they discovered was a suspicious device that had been placed strategically around the location. The incident marks the latest in a series of attacks against Tesla, as the company continues to face criticism and vandalism linked to CEO Elon Musk's involvement with the Trump administration.

The Austin Police Department immediately brought in the APD Bomb Squad to inspect the devices discovered at the showroom.

"When officers arrived on scene, they located suspicious devices, and called the APD Bomb Squad to investigate," the Austin Police Department stated.

Those devices were deemed incendiary and police were able to apprehend him without incident or additional harm.

"The devices, which were determined to be incendiary, were taken into police custody without incident," according to the Austin Police Department.

At this time, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is helping local authorities investigate the incident. The federal agents’ presence serves to highlight the severity of the attack, which included arson, on the electric vehicle company’s Austin headquarters.

Tesla has been made to walk a political tightrope lately caused by its CEO, Elon Musk, and his supposed connections to President Donald Trump’s administration. Nevertheless, this association has been subject to criticism. It triggered a subsequent spree of counter-vandalism across the company’s facilities, like what occurred this past Monday.
