Juventus Secures 2-1 Victory Over Lecce to Climb the Standings

Saturday, Juventus dug deep to earn a 2-1 home win against Lecce in Serie A. Through this win, they jumped provisionally to third place in the league standings. Juventus looked to be regaining some substantial ground with this victory. They had been finding it hard to keep it together, tying 1-1 with AS Roma last weekend and just edging a thin 1-0 win against Genoa ahead of this Lecce clash. In their home-leg match played in Allianz Stadium, Juventus quickly raced to command the match by scoring two goals in the first half. Teun Koopmeiners opened the scoring early with a low strike inside the far post, assisted by Dusan Vlahovic’s precise pass into the box. Dusan Vlahovic’s performance stood out during the match. He had an opportunity to extend Juventus’s lead to 3-0 after the break but was thwarted by Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
