PETRONAS Signs Multiple MoUs to Boost Oil and Gas Sector

PETRONAS has committed to significantly support the Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) sector. As part of the collaboration, they signed 11 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with major industry stakeholders. The agreements, announced in a statement on Tuesday, focus on two major initiatives: yard transformation and productivity enhancement, alongside the skilled trade champion initiative.

The skilled trade champion initiative aims to develop a highly skilled local workforce, essential for meeting the evolving demands of the energy sector. Six of those signed MoUs are helping to realize that vision. They exemplify the company’s commitment to growing talent and enhancing skills in the pipeline industry.

We signed memoranda of understanding with the major stakeholders in the industry. This list includes significant Pan-Malaysia maintenance, construction, and modification contractors, and Hook-up and Commissioning contractors. Further, Malaysia Offshore Support Vessel Owners’ Association was one of the signatories. Collectively, through these partnerships, we see a commitment to embrace industry collaboration and innovation to bring real change onto fabrication yards.

Together, these commitments will help advance projects that promise to move Malaysia forward. Taken together, they better equip the nation to respond to the rapidly evolving demands of the energy marketplace. PETRONAS is committed to yard transformation and increasing productivity. Their objective is to create an atmosphere that encourages visitation and investment, and where growth can move faster.

Bernama quoted the minister that the structured roll-out would be conducted in concert with local OGSE players. Aligning with national goals, it will focus on outcomes that are measurable to create an atmosphere conducive to investment and fast-moving growth.
