A man smashed his car through the gates of Jennifer Aniston’s midcentury estate in Bel-Air on Monday afternoon. Los Angeles police respond to the scene of the shooting incident. Instead of questioning him first, they promptly arrested the driver.
Jennifer Aniston bought the estate in 2012 for a hair under $21 million. The house was originally constructed in 1965. Its renowned architect A. Quincy Jones left an indelible mark with his striking contributions to the overwhelming beauty of modern architecture. Shortly before Aniston purchased the estate, architect Frederick Fisher finished a full renovation, making sure the property stayed as visually and aesthetically inspiring as it was functional.
Located on a stunning 3.4-acre ocean-point promontory, the estate has panoramic views of the world’s finest coastline as well as LA’s dazzling skyline. The picturesque property features a private guesthouse, swimming pool, and even private vineyards, adding to its undeniably lavish atmosphere. Aniston has enjoyed the property as her personal retreat. In 2015, she married actor Justin Theroux on the property in an elaborate but intimate ceremony. In 2018 after their divorce, Aniston remained the primary occupant of the home.
The standoff on Monday has put a spotlight on security around prominent mansions in the exclusive Bel-Air neighborhood. Local authorities have since confirmed that there were no injuries resulting from the crash. What caused the incident is still unknown.
