Sunway University has officially launched its new medical school, the Sir Jeffrey Cheah Sunway Medical School, located in Bandar Sunway, Selangor. The launch event just took place a few weeks ago. The event was officiated by the Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir. Achievements This collaborative initiative seeks to improve the way that future healthcare professionals in Malaysia are trained.
The new medical school, which came into unity in 2020, sits in the research and education hub of Sunway Square. This new development is located directly opposite Sunway Medical Centre and Sunway University. In this prime location, the goal is to enhance the collaboration between education and healthcare services. It provides students with hands-on training, as well as critical resources and connections.
Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah, the founder of Sunway University, told the Sunway Post in an interview recently on the new facility.
“Our latest development called Sunway Square, located across from Sunway Medical Centre and Sunway University, will feature a purpose-built facility for the new medical school. The opening of this medical school marks the beginning of a larger scheme to bolster Malaysia’s healthcare education environment.
