Carlo Ancelotti to Depart Real Madrid for Brazil Coaching Role

Whether the 65-year-old Carlo Ancelotti knows it or not, he has just dropped a huge bombshell. At the end of this season, he will depart Real Madrid. The Italian manager has further bolstered his claim as the most successful manager to ever lace up his boots in world football. The Brazilian had released a statement thanking his time spent with the Spanish giants. Ancelotti is moving into uncharted territory as coach of the Brazilian national team. He departs a successful six-year reign, during which he helped the club win an unprecedented haul of trophies.

This second spell at Los Merengues has been a title winning machine, racking up an incredible 11 titles in four years. His accomplishments range from winning the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Ancelotti has the most magnificent of records, but even he conceded this season has not been all that he wished for. So, with deep regret, he has chosen to depart.

A Legacy of Success

Since his surprise appointment, Ancelotti has made an indelible impact on Real Madrid. That he’s been able to manage those pressures, running a top club while producing young talent, has received a frequent chorus of applaud. Ancelotti’s benevolent despot approach to player management was key in fostering a brilliant squad environment that paved the way for on-field brilliance.

Reflecting on his time at the club, he remarked, “The day I arrived, if someone had told me I would win 11 titles in four years, I would have signed (for) it in blood.” On reflection, this assertion emphasizes just how surprising a success he actually was during his time in office.

Ancelotti announced that he would officially make his move to coach the Brazilian national team on March 26. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) appointed him as their new coach as they seek to rejuvenate their squad ahead of future competitions.

Embracing Change

In his farewell message, Ancelotti reflected fondly about his time spent at Real Madrid. Despite that success, he admitted that a change was needed for both himself and the club. He stated, “I couldn’t be Madrid coach for the rest of my life. It comes to an end for many reasons. The club may need a new impetus. I’m not making a big deal out of it.”

It is tempting to see Ancelotti’s departure as a personal transition but it marks the end of an era for Real Madrid. He expressed his appreciation for the club by saying, “A thousand thanks to this club. And we’ll carry on. I’ll always be a Madrid fan.” His sentiments speak to the emotional bond that comes with being part of the team and serving its fans.

It writes that the next match against Mallorca on Wednesday would be the most important. It presents perhaps one of Ancelotti’s final opportunities to guide the squad from the touchline. He noted, “There have been some unforgettable years that I’ll carry dearly close to my heart.”

Looking Ahead

As he gets ready to embark on this new and exciting phase of his career, Ancelotti’s positivity is hard to miss. He recognized that if endings are hard, they can be times of important new beginnings. It has been a fantastic era that seems to be winding down. A great time. Yet even existence itself sometimes has to die. Now picture that experience multiplied many times, especially when your professional dream of playing on the gridiron with an NFL franchise has to abruptly end,” he shared.

The only thing we know for certain is that, Real Madrid will release a formal announcement on Ancelotti’s exit when they see fit. Never fear though, for the out-of-touch right-back made sure to allay fears about any latent discontent between him and the club.
