Deviled Egg Co, a unique culinary venture specializing in creative deviled egg flavors, achieved a significant milestone during its appearance on the final episode of “Shark Tank” featuring Mark Cuban. Raechel Van Buskirk started the company in 2017 while she was managing a bar and lounge. What began as a side hustle in Omaha, Nebraska, has officially blossomed into a national restaurant brand with two full-service locations and one grab-and-go outlet in the Dallas metropolitan area.
Raechel Van Buskirk’s culinary adventure began once she started learning to make different types of deviled eggs. She started out cooking these artistic meals from her apartment. Enticing flavors served up by the Deviled Egg Co. include creative takes on classics, such as crab rangoon, cheeseburger and chicken quesadilla. Her enthusiasm for this special dish enthralled her friends and family. Encouraged by the positive response, she joined forces with business partner Alexi Wellman to grow the venture.
In 2020, Deviled Egg Co opened a food trailer, expanding even more their reach and customer base. The restaurant’s innovative take on an old classic has attracted a ton of investor interest. At the end of the show, Barbara Corcoran made a $150,000 offer for 15% equity in the company. At the same time, Kevin O’Leary struck back with a competing offer of $150,000 for 20%. That’s how Mark Cuban made his last-ever televised investment on Shark Tank. He made a fantastic exit from his run on the show with a devilishly good pledge to Deviled Egg Co. His involvement, however, signals top-flight confidence in the venture’s prospects for rapid growth. Cuban expressed gratitude towards his fellow entrepreneurs during his exit from the show, stating:
“What I’d like to say is thanks to everybody who took a chance on me, all the entrepreneurs who said yes to me — who knows how many millionaires we’ve created — and their employees. How many people we’ve inspired.” – Mark Cuban
Cuban’s investment will accelerate Raechel Van Buskirk’s plan for growth. Continuing to scale her innovative model, she plans to open two additional grab-and-go locations, increasing convenient access points for customers.
Daymond John, another prominent investor on “Shark Tank,” praised the culinary creation during the segment, asserting:
“This is probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten in 16 years on this stage.” – Daymond John
