This Saturday, May 24, Pearly-Thinaah will meet their biggest challenge yet. They will square off against Jia Yifan, China’s Olympic champion from Paris, with her new partner Zhang Shuxian. This semifinal battle will decide who moves on to the finals of the highly coveted tournament.

Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan put up a sensational show last Friday, May 23. They did it all while performing at the iconic Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil. They reached the semifinals after defeating Ina’s Febriana Kusuma and Amallia Cahaya. Not only was this their first Olympic medal, they controlled the final match, winning 21-14, 21-14 in imposing fashion. The final was over in just 34 minutes, a thorough and commanding Pearly-Thinaah display that delighted their vocal home support.
