This victory marked the club’s first title celebration in front of their home supporters in 35 years, creating an electric atmosphere at Anfield. Chelsea’s performance reflects their resilience and determination to return to Europe’s elite competition.
Newcastle’s Narrow Escape
Newcastle United were on the end of a dramatic escape on the final day of the season. They only just held on to their Champions League place, despite a shocking 1-0 home defeat to Everton. The loss set alarm bells ringing for Newcastle fans. They’d fought tooth-and-nail all year for a respectable top-five in the standings. Luckily for them, other results conspired to keep their Champions League spot safe.
Other big performances that stood out were West Ham’s surprising 3-1 win over Ipswich and Leicester City’s abysmal 2-0 defeat against Bournemouth. Additionally, Wolves and Brentford played out a 1-1 draw, while Tottenham Hotspur finished their season in a precarious 17th position after suffering a staggering 22nd league defeat.
