AllTrails, the popular hiking and biking companion app, just kicked off the emergence of a new breed of smart premium membership with the introduction of “Peak.” This membership is $80 a year. It enhances your time outside with innovative new features including an Outdoor Lens and a trail conditions, seven-day forecast.
In 2021, AllTrails successfully raised $150 million to further develop its platform, which has since garnered attention as a vital tool for outdoor enthusiasts. Just this year, AllTrails was named Apple’s iPhone App of the Year. The app continues to innovate and grow so that it can best serve its community’s constantly evolving needs.
Our Peak membership will roll out the new Outdoor Lens feature. This electrifying new feature allows users to instantly identify trees, plants, and flowers all around them while recording their discoveries right in the app. This added context does more than deepen users’ understanding of their environment—it helps them develop a greater appreciation for the natural world around them.
For those of you who want to try before you buy—or don’t want to purchase a premium membership—AllTrails has an absolutely free version called AllTrails Base. Detailed features The Base plan offers all the basics, like trail maps, reviews from the community, and navigation features. Additionally, AllTrails provides a Plus subscription that enhances the user experience with offline access, wrong-turn alerts, 3D trail previews, and live trail activity sharing.
To increase user retentiveness we’re rolling out a brand new feature that you’re going to LOVE – Points of Interest! Until then, this feature will be available for Base and Plus subscribers shortly. This new feature will introduce over 500,000 new mapped viewpoints, landmarks and trail amenities to the app. Your users will have a much simpler time finding amazing places to stop and see on their travels!
AllTrails is releasing an awesome new tool to help you explore! It will provide real-time forecasting on trail conditions such as temperature, precipitation, snow depth, etc., which are key metrics for this user segment. Look for select members to have access to this in the coming weeks. We hope to have it deployed worldwide by June for all users.
The company uses data from millions of users to monitor current trail conditions. This top-down method is similar to the way that Google Maps calculates delay at different locations. This empirical tactic maximizes the reliability of the information shared with the user. By doing so, it puts them in the best position possible to make smart and safe decisions about their outdoor experience.
With new features rolling out all the time, AllTrails is committed to helping outdoor enthusiasts find and enjoy beautiful places. AllTrails announces the Peak membership, highlighting some of its coolest new features. This step further showcases the company’s commitment to improving outdoor experiences, while fostering a deep sense of community among its users.
