The proposal, presented by the conservative National Center for Public Policy Research (NPPR), was one of four that Apple advised its shareholders to vote against during their recent investor meeting. This decision comes as various tech giants reconsider their DEI commitments in response to external pressures.
Apple CEO Tim Cook cautioned that the company might need to adapt its DEI strategies to align with evolving legal requirements. In his statement, Cook emphasized the importance of compliance, saying:
