Cannes Film Festival 2025 Red Carpet Sees Bold Fashion Amid New Dress Code

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival took a radical step in eliminating its dress code. That decision was a radical departure from the event’s conservative longstanding dress code. This year, organizers implemented a strict prohibition on nudity, stating that “nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival.” The updated regulations now enhance the audacity and sophistication of the parade’s dazzling showcase. They make sure decorum is maintained on arguably the most revered stage in the world.

Despite the dress code changes, the festival’s red carpet continued to deliver plenty of sartorial surprises and memorable fashion moments. A-listers from all corners of the Earth flooded onto the Croisette, turning the famed promenade—and red carpet—into a stunning runway awash in high-octane glamour and serious swagger. 2023 was, without a doubt, the year of the gown. From wide leg trousers to angular shapes, stars made head-turning red carpet entrances that dazzled audiences and fans.

Elle Fanning certainly wowed in her scene-stealing outfits. She exhibited an otherworldly variety of creations seamlessly mixing contemporary attitude with timeless sophistication. Jennifer Lawrence arrived and she was not afraid to say cosas. She doubled down her title of style queen at the festival.

The festival quickly established itself as a platform for more than just awards contenders, with appearances by actors and advocates like Pedro Pascal and Alexander Skarsgård. Of course, both stars dazzled the audience with their breathtaking gowns as well. After the recent premiere of their new film together “Pillion,” the two took to social media to kiss—and their kiss, which quickly went viral, took over social media!

As the festival progressed, anticipation for the red carpet looks only increased. Fashion critics and fashionistas alike were ready to ogle each eye-catching look. As usual, the festival was filled with energy and enthusiasm. Attendees celebrated the spectacle and creativity that the fashion–forward crowd brought to the runway.

Beyond its sartorial peaks, the resplendent Cannes Film Festival has once again reached its highly competitive pinnacle with the awarding of the coveted Palme d’Or. This year, the top prize went to the Iranian revenge drama “It Was Just an Accident,” further emphasizing the festival’s commitment to celebrating cinematic excellence alongside its vibrant fashion scene.
