The brand new short-form video editing application, Edits, recently had an incredible impact. That’s just from the first week it’s been out — it’s already gotten over 7 million downloads! Then the app rocketed to the top of the charts! It hit No. 1 on the U.S. April 22 U.S. iPhone App Store. It will be appearing on that list as it accomplished this remarkable feat in Top Overall as well as in Top Apps (no games) category.
Even with that jaw-dropping introduction to the world, Edits became a No. 2 on both charts just 24 hours later. By the end of the week it had dropped to No. 3. In its first 48 hours on the market, Edits rocketed to over 702,900 downloads across all devices running iOS. Even more impressively, nearly 381,000 of those downloads were from the U.S.—and that’s in just three days.
After only three full days on the market, Edits reached a remarkable No. 14 overall in the U.S. App Store. It even took the No. 2 spot of all non-game apps. The speed in which everyone has adopted it speaks to how popular it is. This trend furthers its potential for continued rapid expansion and increased competition in the video editing space.
Users have raved about Edits’ easy to use interface, built-in analytics, lack of ads, 4K video and no watermark exports. These features arguably played the biggest role in helping it achieve such a rapid download spike and overall high rankings.
On Thursday, Edits hit a major milestone with a spectacular 1.2 million downloads on iOS alone. On Android it shot up to an astounding 5.9 million, making for a grand total of 7.1 million downloads! As compared to CapCut’s U.S. debut, Edits’ launch is exceptionally impressive as it was 112 times bigger than CapCut’s first release.
This side by side comparison of Edits with the other application provides a great visual representation of Edits’ groundbreaking success. In fact, over its very first two days, Edits was downloaded a staggering 37 times more on iOS than CapCut. CapCut only got to 83,500 total downloads on iOS and Android combined over its first three days. CapCut’s U.S. debut resulted in only 3,400 downloads compared to Edits’ staggering 381,000.
