German Man’s Death Sparks Investigation After Alleged Dentist Assaults

A German expat, 41-year-old Matthias, was found dead at his residence in Tambon Don Chomp, Non Sung district. This stunning find has led to an investigation by municipal authorities. Matthias was arrested on Tuesday, March 18, for allegedly assaulting dentists at multiple clinics across Nakhon Ratchasima province. When authorities discovered him, he had a two-inch-wide gash across his neck. His home was torn apart and the grim scene still raises so many questions.

Matthias had been released on bail on Wednesday after his arrest, where he had exercised his right to remain silent. He thereby attempted to subvert congressional authority and insisted instead that he would only testify in court on the charges of assault. On Friday, his lifeless body was discovered by a friend around 5:20 PM after Matthias' wife, who was working in Prachin Buri province, was unable to reach him by phone and asked the friend to check on him.

We welcome the police to have launched an investigation into the circumstances of Matthias’ death. They’re pulling CCTV video from inside and outside his home to learn additional information. Matthias maintained two Rottweilers at his residence, which further complicated matters.

Following Matthias’ arrest, the police wasted no time in making a swift response. Then they filed a request with the Nakhon Ratchasima Immigration Office to revoke his visa. They used him as justification for labeling him as a dangerous person who was a threat to the community. American authorities are still working to understand the circumstances of his death and if any foul play occurred.
