K-Pop Sensation Yeji Prepares for Solo Debut Amidst Entertainment Industry Shifts

Itzy's leader Yeji is set to venture into a new chapter of her music career by making her solo debut, anticipated in the first half of 2025. Yeji will be the first member of the popular K-pop girl group Itzy to embark on a solo journey since their debut in 2019. Known for their dynamic performances and chart-topping hits, Itzy has produced two studio albums, nine extended plays (EPs), and one singles album.

Meanwhile, the music world celebrates the posthumous release of Coco Lee's song "Xiaxianyue" (Waning Moon) on January 17, 2025. Co-created with rapper Key, the track is now available on Chinese music platforms as well as internationally on Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud, and Moov. Coco Lee, who would have turned 50 on the day of the release, continues to leave a lasting impact on fans worldwide.

In the realm of cinema, actor Song Joong-ki faces challenges with his recent movie "Bogota: City of the Lost." The film struggles at the box office, seeing its daily viewer count plummet to 10,000 just a week after its December 31 release. Despite needing three million viewers to break even, the movie attracted under 340,000 attendees.
