Along with Gout’s triumphs, compatriate and long distance runner—Peter Bol will be representing Australia at the World Championships too. Bol recently recorded a personal best and national record of 1:43.79 in the 800 metres at the Perth championships. He placed fourth in the same event at the Tokyo Olympics. Now, he’s headed back to Japan on a hot streak, looking to make amends for a lackluster performance.
