TensorWave Secures $100 Million to Advance AMD-Powered Cloud Infrastructure

TensorWave, a data center provider with a mission to build facilities filled with AMD hardware, has closed a successful $100 million funding round. This monumental financial influx puts the company in a better position to improve operations and expand its foothold in a growing market. Darrick Horton, Jeff Tatarchuk, and Piotr Tomasik co-founded TensorWave in early 2023. Since then, the company has been on a major heard of steam in the AI infra sector.

This year, TensorWave hopes to be well past a run-rate revenue of $100 million. This would be an unprecedented 20 times higher than the level of appropriations last year. The company’s aggressive growth is indicative of these direct investments into a modernized technology and infrastructure.

Darrick Horton, the CEO of TensorWave, hammered home why this funding was so critical.

“This $100 million funding propels TensorWave’s mission to democratize access to cutting-edge AI compute.” – Darrick Horton

The company has also recently put into production a specialized training cluster that consists of 8,192 AMD Instinct MI325X GPUs. This multimillion dollar investment in hardware is indicative of TensorWave’s dedication to delivering robust computing resources for enterprise-driven AI applications. As Horton explained, winning this deployment is the key to their future.

“Our 8,192 Instinct MI325X GPU cluster marks just the beginning as we establish ourselves as the emerging AMD-powered leader in the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market.” – Darrick Horton

With a current team of around 40 employees, TensorWave plans to more than double its workforce, aiming to surpass 100 employees by year-end. This expansion is indicative of their own ambitious growth strategy and the demand for strong AI solutions.

That’s an opportunity that co-founders Jeff Tatarchuk and Piotr Tomasik know well and are looking to capitalize on at TensorWave. Tatarchuk had previously founded the cloud vendor VMAccel with Horton. He has a successful background creating tech ventures and recently sold his place based services startup Lets Rolo to the digital identity company LifeKey. Entrepreneur Tomasik co-founded the influencer marketing platform Influential and is perhaps best known for his work on Lets Rolo.

As TensorWave continues to develop its AMD-powered infrastructure, it positions itself as a key player in an increasingly competitive market. The new company, Innovation First, is focused on creating the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. This commitment improves access to AI computing capabilities for startup and new businesses developers.
