The Beatles Make Historic Brit Award Comeback

The iconic Beatles have received their first Brit Award nomination in over 40 years for the song "Now and Then," marking a major milestone in the legendary band's enduring legacy. This development comes amid a fiercely competitive lineup for the Brit Awards 2025, where Charli XCX leads the nominations with five, including prestigious categories such as Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. The highly anticipated awards ceremony is set to take place on March 1 at London's O2 Arena, with Jack Whitehall returning as host.

The nominations for the Brit Awards 2025 were announced on January 31. In an exciting twist, five genre categories—Pop, Dance, Alternative/Rock, Hip-Hop, and R&B—will be fan-voted this year. Fans can cast their votes once in each category every 24 hours until voting closes on February 14.

The Beatles' nominated track, "Now and Then," was originally penned by the late John Lennon in the late 1970s and was completed by surviving bandmates Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr. This nomination adds to The Beatles' historical accolades at the Brit Awards, having previously won the Outstanding Contribution to Music award in 1983 and British Group and British Album of the Year for their iconic album "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."

Charli XCX has emerged as a dominant figure this year with nominations in five categories, including Mastercard Album of the Year. Hot on her heels are Dua Lipa, The Last Dinner Party, and Ezra Collective, each securing four nominations. They are joined by international sensations like Benson Boone, Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift, all of whom garnered two nominations for International Artist and International Song of the Year.

Myles Smith has also made a significant impact with three nominations, including Song of the Year, Best New Act, and Pop categories. Reflecting on his nominations, Smith expressed his excitement about the upcoming ceremony.

"It's still not quite real but hopefully on the night it feels even better, I can't wait to be in and around it…" – Myles Smith

In another record-setting moment, The Cure has achieved their most successful year at the Brit Awards with three nominations, including Group of the Year and Alternative/Rock promoted by Absolute Radio. Rachel Chinouriri is another standout nominee, receiving nods for Best New Artist and Artist of the Year. She shared her feelings about this career milestone.

"I feel like younger me was dreaming of these moments, to be standing here is a little bit insane." – Rachel Chinouriri

The Brit Awards 2025 will feature a livestream of the nominations announcement hosted by Sian Welby. This move aims to engage fans worldwide and maintain transparency in the voting process.

As excitement builds for the ceremony at London's O2 Arena, fans eagerly anticipate a night filled with celebrations of musical excellence and memorable performances. The return of Jack Whitehall as host promises an entertaining evening, adding to the grandeur of one of Britain's most prestigious music award events.
