Chinese actor Liang Youcheng, known for his roles in popular dramas, tragically passed away at the age of 27. He succumbed to complications related to influenza on January 30, coinciding with the second day of the Chinese New Year. Liang Youcheng, celebrated for his performances in Chinese dramas like "Echo of Her Voice," initially mistook his illness for a common cold. However, as his condition worsened, he was admitted to the hospital shortly before the festive season. Despite medical intervention, his health deteriorated rapidly due to complications arising from the flu.
On the eve of the Chinese New Year, Liang sent his mother a heartfelt message, accompanied by an e-hongbao of 888 yuan (approximately S$165). He informed her that this was a gift from the production team, marking what would be his final communication with her.
Liang's posthumous work, "It Girl in Tang Dynasty," is set to be released this year. The drama will serve as a poignant reminder of his talent and potential in the industry.
The National Library of Medicine defines Central Nervous System (CNS) infections as inflammation involving the brain, spinal cord, optic nerves, and their protective membranes. These infections can manifest as meningitis, encephalitis, or abscesses. Meningitis involves inflammation of the membranes safeguarding the brain and spinal cord, while encephalitis refers to inflammation of the brain itself. An abscess is defined as a collection of pus within brain tissue.
Recent literature published in 2023 has highlighted a correlation between Influenza A infections and neurological manifestations. Particularly, the H3N2 variant has been associated with severe conditions such as encephalitis. This information underscores the potential severity of flu complications.
