X’s Premium+ Plan Sees Price Surge Amid Grok 3 Launch

In a strategic move coinciding with the launch of xAI's latest AI model, Grok 3, X has announced a notable increase in its Premium+ subscription prices in the United States. The monthly cost for Premium+ now stands at $50, while the annual subscription has been adjusted to $350. This marks the second price hike for the Premium+ plan in recent months, following an earlier increase from $16 to $22 per month in December.

The pricing structure for Premium+ on X, however, remains inconsistent. Users signing up for the plan encounter a price of $39.83 per month or $477.95 annually. Yet, the final check-out page displays a different pricing, charging $395 for a year and $40 monthly. Additionally, the sign-up page lists a monthly charge of $48.40, further adding to the confusion.

The timing of this price adjustment aligns with the release of Grok 3 by Elon Musk's AI company, xAI. Available through the Grok app, Grok 3 boasts several advanced features. Some of these capabilities are reserved for a separate subscription called the SuperGrok plan, also accessible via the Grok app.

The latest subscription price changes reflect X's strategic positioning within the competitive landscape of AI technology and digital services. By aligning its pricing with the introduction of innovative AI solutions like Grok 3, X aims to capture a broader audience while enhancing its service offerings.
