Creandum closes US$750 million fund for early-stage investments
The European venture capital firm will split Fund VIII equally between new investments and follow-on rounds, while expanding its San Francisco presence.

Creandum said it has completed fundraising for Fund VIII at US$750 million, making it the European early-stage venture capital firm’s biggest fund. It will target seed and Series A investments, allocating half its capital to new investments and half to follow-on rounds.
The firm’s previous vehicle, Fund VII, totalled €500 million. Creandum said institutional investors from both Europe and the US had contributed to the new fund. Its portfolio includes Lovable, Klarna and Black Forest Labs.
Alongside the fundraising, Creandum said it had opened a new San Francisco office, in a city where it has operated since 2012. Its US team will collaborate with colleagues based in Stockholm, London and Berlin to support founders across the two regions.
Founder and partner Staffan Helgesson said the firm remained focused on backing European founders at an early stage, with growing attention to the US. Creandum said its expanded San Francisco activity comes as US venture firms compete increasingly for European deals.
