Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten is to become a father for the first time with his partner, Argentine field hockey player Nicolás Keenan. The pair announced on Instagram on 19 October 2026 that they are expecting a child through surrogacy in 2027.

In their post, the couple thanked their egg donor, their surrogate, Lisa, and the families of both women. D66, Jetten’s party, said the arrangement was non-commercial and that the surrogate and donor were Dutch acquaintances of the prospective parents.

D66 also said a couple who are friends with Jetten and Keenan and already have children had helped make the pregnancy possible. Lisa said acting as a surrogate was a way to help her friends realise their wish to have a child.

The pair became engaged in November 2024. Jetten entered the Dutch House of Representatives as a D66 member in 2017 and subsequently served as climate and energy policy minister under former prime minister Mark Rutte.
