European start-ups raised €15.8 billion in September
The UK led fundraising with €7.3 billion from 65 transactions, while cloud companies attracted 35 per cent of the month's investment.

Funding for European technology companies reached €15.8 billion through 300 deals in September 2026. August had recorded 165 deals worth €3.2 billion. The funding value increased by almost 394 per cent month on month, while the number of transactions grew by around 82 per cent.
The UK ranked first among fundraising markets, with 65 transactions bringing in €7.3 billion. Cloud attracted the largest share of investment among sectors: €5.5 billion, equivalent to 35 per cent of September's total.
French artificial intelligence company Mistral completed the biggest funding deal, raising €3 billion through a Series D round. Its post-money valuation exceeded €21 billion. Mistral and Nscale accounted for three rounds worth more than €1 billion each.
Across the month, 25 companies secured sums above €100 million each. Values were not disclosed for 34 of the 300 funding deals.
There were also 39 exit transactions in the European technology sector. Germany led with eight, representing around 21 per cent of the total. France recorded six exits, while the UK and Sweden each had three.
