Portuguese startup Granter has raised €1.6 million, with the money earmarked for developing its AI platform, recruiting staff and expanding abroad. Its software helps businesses navigate applications for public funding.

The round takes the company's cumulative funding to €2 million. Lead investor 3XP Global invested through its Impact Innovation Fund, alongside Celtis Venture Partners, Gateway Ventures and Deel, a US human resources technology company. Gateway Ventures has backing from investors in Austria and Germany.

Granter's expansion plans cover Spain, Germany and Italy, where it has investors and early commercial connections. Portugal is still its principal market. The company also intends to increase its workforce to more than twice its current size, with a US entry planned over the medium term.

Small and medium-sized enterprises and startups are a particular focus for the platform. Its tools cover finding funding opportunities, preparing submissions and managing projects that receive approval. A recent relaunch of its AI Grant Consultant introduced a chat interface through which users can work with an AI agent.

Granter says some work that previously took weeks, often with specialist consultants involved, can now take less than an hour. After winning Web Summit's PITCH competition in November 2025, it has assisted more than 140 businesses seeking over €30 million in funding.
