Rexhep Rexhepi wins Aiguille d’Or at Geneva watchmaking awards
The 26th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève featured 84 watches and clocks, with technical categories replacing gender-based awards.

Geneva-based independent watchmaker Rexhep Rexhepi took the top prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) on 7 November 2026. His Chronograph Flyback won the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix, for which watches from every category were eligible.
The Swiss-Kosovan watchmaker’s winning design features a storm blue Grand Feu enamel dial inspired by vintage pocket-watch chronographs. The award went to Breguet’s Classique Souscription 2025 in the previous year.
For its 26th edition, the competition brought together 84 watches and clocks across 14 categories. Organisers removed the Men’s and Ladies’ categories and introduced Essential Watch and Complication Watch. A panel drawn from watchmaking, collecting, journalism and auctioneering chose the winners.
Daniel Roth’s Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton won the Essential award, while CLEGUER’s Inspiration One took the Complication prize. Blancpain’s Grande Double Sonnerie received the Mechanical Exception award, and La Vallée’s COSMO won for Mechanical Clock. The Special Jury Prize, which recognises contributions to watchmaking rather than an individual timepiece, went to Patek Philippe / Watch Art Grand Exhibition.
