Europe has the largest regional presence in the newly unveiled extended ranking for The 50 Best Restaurants 2026, with 20 entries spanning 11 countries. Uliassi, in the Italian town of Senigallia, occupies No.51, the highest position available in this part of the selection.

The ranking’s geographical spread covers 36 cities and six continents. More than 1,100 restaurant experts took part in the voting, among them chefs, culinary specialists and food writers. Asia accounts for 17 entries, North America six, South America three, and Africa and the Middle East two each.

Four European countries have three venues apiece: Spain, Belgium, France and Germany. Berlin accounts for Germany’s entire contingent, with Nobelhart & Schmutzig placed No.76, Coda No.82 and Tim Raue No.85. Spain’s entries are Barcelona’s Cocina Hermanos Torres at No.69, Txispa in Atxondo at No.80 and Aponiente in El Puerto de Santa María at No.100.

Both British places go to London restaurants: Kol ranks No.70, while The Ledbury takes No.83, marking its first appearance in the extended selection since 2019. The full ranking is due to be revealed at a gala in Lima, Peru, on 4 November.
