Technology businesses in Europe raised €27.8 billion in the third quarter of 2026, with 732 deals recorded. Funding increased 32.4 per cent compared with the €21 billion invested a year earlier; the equivalent quarter in 2024 brought in €11 billion.

AI led the sector rankings with €6.7 billion, followed by cloud businesses on €6.4 billion. Combined, their investment exceeded €13 billion and represented around 47 per cent of the quarterly total.

Four businesses were behind the five transactions above €1 billion. Mistral AI received €3 billion, Helsing €1.58 billion and Quantum Systems €1.05 billion. Nscale completed two rounds of approximately €2.95 billion and €2.59 billion, alongside a July financing of €787 million. Its funding for the quarter amounted to approximately €6.3 billion across those three transactions.

By country, the UK ranked first, attracting almost €12 billion through 188 deals and around 43 per cent of European investment. Germany took second place with approximately €4.9 billion from 114 transactions. France ranked third, receiving €4.0 billion through 49 deals. Nearly three-quarters of the quarter’s capital went to these three markets.

Investment was concentrated in September rather than spread evenly across the quarter, following a strong July and a weaker August. More than 2,630 investors participated during the quarter, with Innovate UK recording the most activity.
