Euro area services production rises 0.4 per cent in July
EU services production increased by 0.3 per cent, while both areas recorded annual growth of 1.5 per cent.

Services production returned to monthly growth in July 2026, Eurostat’s first estimates show. Seasonally adjusted output rose by 0.4 per cent across the euro area and 0.3 per cent across the EU, following June declines of 0.3 per cent in each.
Luxembourg recorded the strongest monthly rise among EU countries with available figures, at 7.6 per cent. Greece followed with 5.1 per cent and Sweden with 1.5 per cent. The steepest falls were in Hungary, at 4.5 per cent, Denmark, at 3.1 per cent, and Slovenia, at 2.7 per cent.
By industry, professional, scientific and technical activities grew by 1.1 per cent in the euro area and 1.0 per cent in the EU compared with June. Accommodation and food services rose by 0.6 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. Transport and storage output fell by 0.1 per cent in both areas.
Compared with July 2025, overall services production was 1.5 per cent higher in both areas. Greece led the annual increases among countries with available data, at 16.1 per cent, followed by Slovakia at 8.7 per cent and Estonia at 8.0 per cent. Hungary recorded the largest annual decline, at 5.4 per cent, followed by Romania at 4.6 per cent and Denmark at 4.1 per cent.
The production index tracks changes in service-industry output volumes, excluding financial and public services. Eurostat estimates missing recent national observations when calculating the EU and euro area aggregates.
