European tech funding reaches €15.8 billion in September
The UK led national fundraising totals with €7.3 billion, while France’s Mistral secured the month’s biggest individual investment round.

Technology companies in Europe raised €15.8 billion through 300 deals in September 2026, taking investment for the year to almost €60 billion. That compared with August’s €3.2 billion from 165 transactions.
The UK attracted €7.3 billion through more than 65 transactions. France followed with €3.478 billion, ahead of Germany’s €1.155 billion and the Netherlands’ €1.119 billion. Spain recorded €615.8 million and Portugal €524.1 million.
French artificial intelligence company Mistral accounted for September’s largest transaction, raising €3 billion in a series D financing round. Its valuation after the investment exceeded €21 billion. Across Europe, 25 companies each attracted more than €100 million, while values were not disclosed for 34 deals.
Cloud computing drew the largest sector total, receiving €5.541 billion through 44 deals. Artificial intelligence attracted €4.194 billion, followed by fintech at €847.7 million and health tech at €826.3 million. Space companies raised €725.8 million, while robotics received €508.3 million.
More than 11,700 investors participated in September’s funding activity. French public sector investment bank BPI France was involved in 8 deals, the highest number. German public-private venture capital firm High-Tech Gründerfonds participated in 7.
