Ravical raises US$17 million to expand accounting AI platform
The start-up plans to strengthen its presence in four European markets and enter the US. More than 100 European accounting firms use its platform.

MMC Ventures has led a US$17 million seed round for Ravical, which develops artificial intelligence software for accounting and tax firms. The investment takes its total financing to US$25 million, with Lakestar and Pitchdrive returning as investors and Shapers joining as a new backer.
Ravical will put the money towards developing its software, adding staff and expanding in Germany, Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands. Its plans also include entering the US and other European markets.
Established in 2025, the company has three founders: chief executive Joris Van Der Gucht, chief technology officer Ken Bastiaensen and chief product officer Benjamin Vandermarliere. Its software is intended to make experienced professionals’ knowledge available to colleagues through shared working processes.
Van Der Gucht said firms should adopt AI across their organisations instead of leaving employees to use individual assistants separately. Ravical aims to make workflows more efficient, improve service to clients and help firms find further business among their current customers.
The company is targeting accounting firms facing recruitment and retention problems as demand for their services grows. Research by Ravical found that 70 per cent of small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK act on advice generated by AI without consulting their accountants.
