Mindmax raises £2.5 million for AI learning platform
Concept Ventures led the funding round for the platform, whose first product focuses on professional exams and skills development.

Mindmax has secured £2.5 million in venture funding after launching its AI learning platform. Concept Ventures led the round, joined by Redrice Ventures, Daybreak Ventures and Lerer Hippeau.
Angel backers included Maria Raga, formerly CEO of Depop, and Torsten Reil, a co-founder of Helsing. Ed Cooke and Daniel Zohar founded Mindmax after working on Memrise, the language-learning platform with more than 80 million users worldwide.
The company's first product is an AI tutor for professional exam preparation and upskilling. It offers live conversations in which learners can interrupt, ask questions and steer explanations towards subjects they find challenging. Sessions also include visual material and are tailored to users' knowledge and goals.
Mindmax says its approach is intended to encourage active learning rather than merely supply answers, and to improve retention compared with passive formats. The company plans further development of its AI models to make learning sessions more personalised.
