A second fund closed by Barcelona-based Enzo Ventures will invest €20 million in pre-seed businesses led by Southern European founders. Its remit also covers entrepreneurs who have left the region but maintain connections with its startup communities.

Fund II has made three investments so far, backing Cori Clinical in London alongside startups in Madrid and Zurich. The fund’s cheques range between €250,000 and €600,000.

The firm started investing in 2023 and says the new vehicle builds on the approach of its €10 million first fund. Enzo seeks to identify founders ahead of the wider venture capital market, including those drawing on talent networks in their places of origin.

Edgar Vicente and Iván Fernández Lucas established Enzo after working in startups. Founding partner Vicente said their investment approach focused on founders’ origins rather than the jurisdictions in which their companies were incorporated.

Enzo’s existing portfolio includes Orbio and Murphy. Both companies now generate revenue amounting to millions of euros, according to the firm.
