Ryanair to close bag drop 60 minutes before departure
The earlier deadline takes effect on 10 November at every airport served by the airline, replacing the current 40-minute cut-off.

Passengers checking luggage with Ryanair will have to hand over their bags at least 60 minutes before their flight departs from 10 November. The airline currently allows bags to be dropped off until 40 minutes before scheduled departure.
The rule will apply across its airport network. Ryanair first announced the change in April, saying it was intended to leave passengers more time to pass through security and passport checks.
Ryanair says 20 per cent of its passengers check in luggage. Its chief marketing officer, Dara Brady, said the revised deadline would help those travellers reach their gates before boarding starts, especially during busy periods when queues may be longer.
Brady also urged passengers using airport bag-drop facilities to allow enough time for their arrival and to complete both check-in and the handover of their luggage before the new deadline.
